Why is Wildgrain healthier?
Why is Wildgrain healthier?
We know that βhealthyβ is not typically the word that comes to mind when talking about carbs. But at Wildgrain, we approach making food differently.
All of our food is made with clean ingredients that are easy to understand and contain no preservatives. Beyond being clean replacements for your favorite grain carbs, our sourdough bread provides many health benefits. Our fermentation process digests the majority of the gluten; for this reason, some people with gluten sensitivities find that they can digest and enjoy sourdough bread. Sourdough bread also contains lactic acid, which helps your body absorb more nutrients (e.g. calcium, magnesium, and iron) than your body would from non-sourdough bread. Lastly, it contains prebiotics, which keep your gut biome healthy and also increase the bioavailability of nutrients.
Why is Wildgrain a membership?
Why is Wildgrain a membership?
Wildgrain sourdough breads take 26 hours to make, compared to 20 minutes for a supermarket loaf. It is difficult for an artisan-driven company like ours to source high-quality ingredients, staff our bakeries, and hand-shape each loaf without knowing roughly how many members we need to deliver to each month.
By becoming a member, youβre eating healthier products, supporting a small business and helping reduce food waste.

Is Sourdough Whole Wheat Loaf a good fit on a GLP-1 medication such as Ozempic, Wegovy, Mounjaro or Zepbound?
Per 1 slice (57g), Sourdough Whole Wheat Loaf has 6 g protein, 2 g fiber and 130 calories, with 0 g added sugar and 0 g saturated fat. That meets the criteria Wildgrain uses for the GLP-1 friendly tag: an FDA "good source" of protein or fiber, 5 g or less added sugar and 2 g or less saturated fat per labeled serving. The tag describes the Nutrition Facts, not a health benefit. Whether it fits your plan is a question for your prescriber or a registered dietitian.
How much protein and fiber are in one slice of Sourdough Whole Wheat Loaf?
How much protein and fiber are in one slice of Sourdough Whole Wheat Loaf?
6 g protein and 2 g fiber per 1 slice (57g), which is 12% and 7% of the FDA Daily Value (50 g protein, 28 g fiber). By FDA definition that makes it a good source of protein (10% of the Daily Value is a "good source", 20% is "excellent" or "high"). Sodium is 310 mg per slice. What does "GLP-1 friendly" mean at Wildgrain?
What does "GLP-1 friendly" mean at Wildgrain?
It is a label-based tag, not a health claim. A product qualifies when, per labeled serving, it is an FDA good source of protein (5 g or more) or fiber (2.8 g or more), has 5 g or less added sugar, 2 g or less saturated fat, under 460 mg sodium and 300 calories or less. Those cut-offs come from FDA nutrient content claim rules (21 CFR 101.54) and the 2024 FDA "healthy" rule, and they mirror the pattern clinical guidance for people on GLP-1 medications describes: smaller portions with adequate protein and fiber and less saturated fat and added sugar. The criteria, sources and the full list are at wildgrain.com/pages/glp-1-friendly. Wildgrain does not have a dietitian on staff; talk to your prescriber or a registered dietitian about what is right for you.
